THOMPSON - On 10 March, at Oakvale Nursing Home, Collegiate Crescent, to Trudie (nee Gaunt) and John, 119 Herries Road, a still-born daughter. Trudie fit and well, thanks to care and attention received at Oakvale.
TONKS - at City General on March 11th, to Mary (nee Bell), wife of L/Cpl Tonks, a daughter, both well.

DOWNING - SIMPKIN - The wedding of Joan, youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Simpkin, Logan Road, to Wilfred John Downing, only son of Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Downing of Wayland Road, will be solemnised at the Darnall Congregational Church at 2.30 pm on Saturday March 20th.
NAYLOR - SMITH - The marriage has been arranged and will shortly take place between Lieutenant Frederick Dennis Naylor , RNVR, elder son of Mr & Mrs F. Naylor of Worksop (late Nether Edge) and Betty Marsden, only child of Mr & Mrs T W Smith, of Nether Edge, Sheffield.
TALBOT - JACKSON -The marriage arranged between Kenneth (RAF), youngest son of Mr & Mrs J Talbot, White Horse Inn, Barnby Moor and Ruby, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs B. Jackson, 48 Hatfield House Lane, will take place at St. Hilda's Church, Shiregreen, on Saturday March 20th at 2.30 pm. All friends welcome at the church.
BURNELL-DREW - On March 9th, at old Norton Church, by the Rev. J. S. Pegge, Henry Ivor, second son of Mr & Mrs G. Burnell of Hemsworth Farm, to Dorothy, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs H. Drew, 12 Norton Avenue.
BARBER - 12th March at 18 Collegiate Crescent, Jonathan Barber, in his 87th year. Funeral details later. No flowers and no mourning by request.
BOYD - March 12th at 163 Bawtry Road, Wickersley, George Henry Boyed aged 74 years. Interment at Wickersley, Tuesday 16th March at 3.30. pm. No flowers
BROOKE - On March 7th at Inglenook, Robin Hood's Bay, Mildred, beloved wife of the late Rev. W. H. Brooke, late of Aston, nr. Sheffield. Interment Robin Hood's Bay, Monday March 15th, 3 pm.
COWHAM - On March 10th, Frederick Thomas, age 79, of 353 Bellhouse Road, beloved husband of Lucy. Service 1 pm, St Chrisopher's Church, Shiregreen,. Interment Tinsley Park Cemetery, Saturday 13th, 2pm.
CROWSON - Edith, the beloved wife of Frank, fell asleep in Jesus March 11th, Royal Hospital, aged 70 years. No mourning. Interment City Road, Monday March 15th at 2.45.
FLAVELL - At Sheffield Royal Hospital, on March 11th, Arthur Colbeck, age 39 years, beloved husband of Clarice, 48 Kilnhurst Road, Ryecroft, Rawmarsh.
FRITH - On March 11th, 1943, at Ivydene, Queen's Road, Beighton, Caroline aged 84 years, dearly beloved wife of the lat John Henry Frith. Service at Beighton Parish Church, 2.30. pm, Monday March 15th, internment Hackenthorpe, 3.15 pm.
HASLAM - On March 11th, suddenly at Fox Lane Farm, Holmesfield, Joseph, aged 55, beloved husband of Florence.
HENSON - Edwin (Ted) of Dronfield, dearly loved husband of Frences, passed away suddenly, March 9th. Funeral service at Dronfield Parish Church at 2 pm.; interment Dronfield Cemetery at 2.45.
HOWELLS - On Wednesday 10th March, 1943, at 9 Bingham Park Road, Sheffield, Thomas aged 76 years, dearly loved husband of Mary Annie Howells. Service, City Road Crematorium, Saturday 11 a.m.
HOYLAND - Suddenly on March 2nd, at St. Annes-on-Sea, late of Sheffield, Fred Hoyland, aged 40. Was cremated March 6th at Carlton, Blackpool.
HOYLE - On Friday March 12th, at "Colbeth", Deepcar, Colin the beloved husband of Elizabeth. Interment, Bolsterstone, Monday March 15th, at 3 p.m. Friends and relatives please accept this the only intimation.
MARTIN - On March 11th, Fred, the beloved husband of Julia, at 40 Halesworth Road, aged 80. Interment Monday March 15th. Service at Handsworth Church 10 a.m. prior to cremation at City Road. No flowers by request.
SHAW - Victor, aged 34, on March 9th at City General Hospital, dearly loved youngest son of Mrs. Shaw, 163 Malton Street, and of James Shaw (deceased), late of Lodge Inn, Spital Hill. Interment Burngreave, 11 o'clock today (Saturday).
SHAW - John W., - On March 4th at Wellingborough, suddenly after a brief illness, aged 59, father of James W. Shaw, of 10 Laverdene Avenue, Totley Rise, Sheffield, Interred at Wellingborough on Saturday March 6th by the Rev. H. Bernard Hannah, of Northampton. Lifelong employee of the L.M. and Scottish Railway Co.
WESTNEDGE - On March 9th, at the City General Hospital, Ben, aged 71 years, the dearly loved husband of H. M. Westnedge, 78 Portland Street. Interment Monday at 12.45, Burngreave Cemetery. Life's work well done, now comes rest.
ALVEY - In memory of Constance Mary (Mollie) Alvey, died March 13th 1928; also Ernest John, her dearly loved father, who fell asleep Jan 17th 1943.
