Derbyshire County Council Record Office
Derbyshire Record Office provides the archive service for Derbyshire, Derby City and Diocese of Derby. Derbyshire Record in New Street, Matlock is legally appointed to hold and make available to the public archives of all types. These include church, business, family, school and hospital records. This vast collection of records are of Derbyshire origin. They date from the Middle Ages to the present day.

North East Derbyshire
The district surrounds Chesterfield on three sides. The east and north are part of a major coalfield, though less important than formerly. Iron, steel, and heavy engineering industries are significant at Clay Cross, Dronfield, Eckington, Renishaw, and other towns on the eastern side of the district. Dronfield and Eckington are also residential areas for commuters to neighbouring Sheffield. In the west and south the district is more rural in character. The land rises in the west toward the Pennines, and part of the district is within the Peak District National Park. See also very informative sites at North West DBY and South DBY.

FFHS is an international organization, established in 1974 in the UK as a non-profit charitable company.  It is conducting the transcription and computerization of Burial records mainly by members of the Federation of Family History Societies throughout Britain.
